Yet another…

Subaru 3″ STI blow through MAF.

I modified a Perrin front mount intercooler kit to accommodate a 3″ blow through MAFS to have more resolution for tuning higher horsepower levels.

Perrin has a 3 inch MAF option, but it does not work very well because the 3″ section is not very big and causes turbulence.

Anyway, to the pictures…

If your wondering what the little square is, it is a patch where the old pipe was rubbing through. hahah

Land Cruisin’ USA

So I did an intercooler job for a very peculiar setup and reason the other day.

Land Cruiser with an AVO turbo kit. The goal was to make an intercooler setup that worked with his winch and cleared the tires.  The original setup did neither, the intercooler was too low and big and the pipes were getting chewed up by the passenger front tire. Not to mention they were all soft rubber hoses.

So, since I haven’t been keeping up on this thing, here is a photo dump of what I have been doing in the mean time.

So we had a car come in for corner weighing and a baseline on the dyno, it was the Aurora police….hahaha.

Some how I am reminded of Super Troopers.

2011 in review

Well I kinda trailed off there towards the end.  Next year I will make this thing have more content.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,200 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 37 trips to carry that many people.

2005 STI blow through

•August 13, 2011 • Leave a Comment

I also made a 3″ blow through MAFS cold-pipe for a 2005 Subaru WRX STI with a Blouch 20g and a nameless FMIC.  The original cold pipe was 2.5″, and as you should know—that isn’t enough resolution for even stock power with a blow through MAFS.  While 2.75″ is closer to stock, it starts to lose resolution at 400-450 hp.  3″ blow through MAFS have a very high power limit but are hard to tune for drive ability, Nick being the freakin’ tuner genius, seems to get by with a 3″ MAFS.

The best part about it: it fits better than it did before, and it is a full 1/2″ bigger diameter!

S14 intake

I made an intake the other day for a S14 240sx with a red top and a Garrett 2871r turbo that we converted to MAP Ecu.

Started off with a custom fabricated 2.5″ aluminum intake and topped it off with a bracket and an HKS shroom filter.

Here is the result:

Spotted some Porsche 356′s (or replicas) in Parker yesterday, I love how small sports cars used to be.

Pipin’ up an STI

Finished up on the 2011 STI front mount intercooler pipes the other day.  Here are some pics

I put the HKS blow off valve in a little different spot than most.

Tried to put in a spot where it will get less moisture and junk.

UPDATE

I have an update on the X-pipe that I fabricated for Don’s 35oz. Not only did it sound better…it made more power!

Picked up a lot of mid range and spool up.

Blue= X-Pipe

Red=H-pipe
